Parkdale Residents support Affordable Housing. Fix the plan.
PARC’s Proposal
141 units with 10 storeys on Queen and 7 towards Beaty.
Breaks the rules. Seeks major relief from height and size limits the Ontario Land Tribunal set in 2023.
Disregards heritage. Two designated heritage buildings reduced to façades.
Huge impact on daily life. Very high levels of residents, visitors, staff, and support services funnelled through limited access points and a narrow laneway backing onto homes.
Residents’ Plan
80-90 unit with 5 storeys on Queen and 4 toward Beaty.
Follows the rules. Fits within the height and size limits set by the Ontario Land Tribunal in 2023.
Respects heritage. Keeps the heritage buildings legible & matches Edmond Place, its heritage twin.
Minimizes disruption for residents. Activity sized more appropriately to the site. A workable lane. More sunlight. Less impact on neighbours during peak operations.
About Us
We are a small group of Parkdale residents. We support an increase of affordable housing in the area. But we have significant concerns about PARC’s proposed redevelopment at Queen and Beaty.
We are not political organizers. We do not want the spotlight. We do not want to be figureheads of a campaign. We want Parkdale residents to have clear information, a fair process, and A Better Plan.
Thank you for your interest. We hope that you will show your support.
